The very important thing you need to look out for next time you head to Pen y Fan

A young boy lost his necklace while climbing Pen Y Fan mountain - and inside are his mum's ashes.

The boy was climbing the popular mountain in the Brecon Beacons on Thursday night, March 28, when he lost the necklace.

Bethan Jones, who helps care for the boy, has issued a plea on Facebook urging walkers to keep an eye out for it.

Disabled man 'suffers terrifying attack' while climbing Pen y Fan with his dog

Ms Jones wrote: "Whilst climbing up Pen Y Fan on Thursday night, a young boy I look after lost his necklace that contains his mother’s ashes.

"If anyone is walking up there today please keep an eye out and let me know. If you know anyone climbing over the weekend please make them aware."

Ms Jones and the young boy took the route which starts at Pont ar Daf.

The necklace is made up of a silver ball chain with a long, silver pendant containing the ashes.

Anybody who finds the necklace can contact Ms Jones through her Facebook page .
