The verdict on The Hoppings famous Yorkshire Pudding Wraps - are they worth the price?

There was a veritable food frenzy last year when Yorkshire Pudding Wraps made their debut at The Hoppings and the good news is they're back!

And the even better news is that there are a few different places doing them this year. Having written about them in 2018 without actually trying them we couldn't let them leave the Town Moor again this time round without us tucking in.

After a few too many rides, including the stomach churning Super Bowl and Rock Rage - which I was reliably informed by my friend didn't go upside down but actually did! - I needed something to fill my belly up, once it actually came back down from the sky, for the walk back to down.

And as tempting as the new Cookie Dough and Freak Shakes stands were, I had a definite hankering for something savoury so the sight of a Yorkshire Pudding Wrap stall drew me in like a moth to a flame.

There were a number of different meats up for grabs including chicken and gammon but in the end I went for turkey and while usually I'm a 'turkey is just for Christmas' kind of boy, it definitely didn't disappoint.

The wraps, which are made from giant Yorkshire puds, are meant to come with roasties inside but me and my friend were left totally crestfallen by the news that they'd run out after a very busy day of orders.

Instead you could get chips as a carb alternative, with the other fillings being cooked carrots and green beans, gravy and a sauce of your choice.

Now, while to some people mint sauce, should only be used for lamb, I'd have it with pretty much anything so there was ever going to be any other option than mint.

And having heard from other people that too much gravy can make a wrap too soggy, I asked for just enough to feel like I was eating Sunday dinner on the go.

While, you could maybe argue that £6 is a tad steep, it was 100% worth it and that's a pretty standard price for food at The Hoppings.

Not ruling out a return trip to the Moor before Saturday night to get another one!

A solid 4 stars out of 5.
