The Vengaboys could be coming to Chatelherault Country Park in 2021 as part of ambitious plans by South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC).
Initial talks are already underway to create a brand new music festival and hold open air concerts at the park.
A report to South Lanarkshire Council's Hamilton area committee by recreation manager Lana Clelland and venue manager Charlie Ingham on Wednesday, March 11, revealed SLLC's aspirations for Chatelherault.
Hamilton North and East councillor Davie McLachlan praised the efforts of the leisure trust adding that "Chatelherault is fantastic" before asking if they had thought about bring live music to the park.
He added: "Have we considered it? Will we consider it?"
Ms Clelland said: "We are in the process.
"We are in talks with a music producer and want to bring a festival to Chatelherault in 2021.
"There are lots of things to consider. We are in initial talks right now."

Ms Clelland said one of the prospective acts could be Dutch Eurodance group the Vengaboys.
Over 660,000 people visit Chatelherault Country Park every year and it is one of the top 10 much loved country parks.
The park has 500 acres of countryside and woodland and over 10 miles of routed pathways.
It features an adventure play ground, picnic facilities and is home to the listed 18th century hunting lodge once owned by the Duke of Hamilton.
