The valuable advice Raheem Sterling is giving England teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi

England and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has praised Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling for taking the time to give him advice on how to improve his game.

Hudson-Odoi has returned from a long-term injury lay-off to take his place in Frank Lampard's youthful Chelsea side this season, with an England U21 call-up designed to ease him back into international action after making his senior debut last season.

The youngster impressed for Chelsea last season and will be looking to kick on having regained his fitness. Speaking ahead of this week's international fixtures, he revealed how Sterling has been helping him improve on and off the pitch.

Prompted to approach Sterling by manager Frank Lampard, Hudson-Odoi says Sterling has helped him on various different aspects of his game.

“[Sterling] obviously plays for a different team, so he doesn’t have to do that, but he does because he wants everyone to do well," Hudson-Odoi explained.

“For a person like that to help you, it’s an amazing feeling. He gives you the best advice possible.

“I ask him, ‘How do you get all the goals you are getting, how do you work for the team, how do you make an impact in big games?’

“[He] tells me to keep working hard, tells me how to get the goals, how to get the assists.

“He’ll tell me what are the best movements to get in the box when the balls are coming in, what is the best position to pick up possession.

“It’s everything you need to know in the modern game and how you should be playing."

Praising Sterling further, Hudson-Odoi said Sterling's all-round game makes him one of the best in his position.

He added: “I’d say he is one of the best wingers in the world right now. When I watch him play it’s an amazing feeling because he likes to help and contribute to the team as much as possible.”
