The unusual way you can book a stay in Liverpool city centre for less than you'd expect

Visitors to Liverpool looking for somewhere to stay that is different to a cheap hotel or hostel have another option to use.

Student halls of residence buildings have many rooms to offer - especially during the summer while the students are away - and they can cost less than what many people may think.

Rooms - which typically sleep two people - can cost around £40 per visit, and discounts are also available.

Many of the rooms are located centrally, and so they provide a good starting point from which to go exploring the city .

The availability of the rooms is largely in the summer vacation months - June, July, August and September - because the students who have been previously staying in them have cleared their rooms and gone home.

The rooms are a cost-effective option and many of them are fully furnished and have wash basins, as well as high speed broadband and more.
