Tottenham Hotspur could yet have a big part to play in the Erling Haaland transfer saga.
Almost all of Europe's top clubs have an interest in the Borussia Dortmund superstar ahead of this summer, but while Spurs are not one of them, they could have a big role in deciding where Haaland ends up.
Haaland is set to cost more than £100million this summer and the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all been linked.
The striker's representatives have already met with a number of those clubs, and Real Madrid are one who have real hope of pulling off the deal.
The only issue is that Los Blancos do need to raise some funds after their latest accounts showed a loss of more than £700million with the coronavirus pandemic likely to cause that figure to rise in the coming months.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is already in discussions with potential investors in a bid to raise money, and a club of that stature should have no problem raising it.
But it is claimed by Diario AS that the sale of Gareth Bale could go a long way in helping and that Real Madrid are hoping Spurs decide to sign Bale permanently this summer.
Though, Spurs do have the option to extend the loan by another year, which may be an option Real Madrid could end up regretting.
There's also the Harry Kane factor.
With very few strikers of the very top bracket available, it's claimed by Marca that Barcelona could turn to Kane as an alternative if they can't land Haaland.
Spurs chief Daniel Levy has reportedly slapped a £175million price tag on Kane, though, meaning financially troubled Barca could well struggle to get anywhere near the Tottenham frontman.
