The Undertaker heading to Super ShowDown for WrestleMania storyline

The Undertaker is said to be flying out to Saudi Arabia to make a surprise appearance at WWE Super ShowDown.

The Deadman hasn't been seen in a WWE ring since an episode of SmackDown in September, when he gave Same Zayn a trademark chokeslam.

But it is believed the 54-year-old is readying himself for an epic return to action at WrestleMania 36 against one of the best wrestlers on the planet.

According to numerous sources, the Demon of Death Valley is slated to face AJ Styles at the Show of Shows in Tampa, Florida on Sunday April 5.

Now, both Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio and John Pollock of Post Wrestling are reporting he will be part of Thursday's blockbuster event.

Undertaker, real name Mark Calaway, is not booked or advertised to be part of the card at the Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh.

Yet it is thought he will be making an appearance in order to set the ball rolling on a highly anticipated feud with 42-year-old Styles, ahead of Mania.

Post Wrestling stated Taker was spotted in Winnipeg, Canada, where the company was set to leave on a chartered flight after Monday’s Raw.

AJ is scheduled to face Rey Mysterio, Andrade, Bobby Lashley and R-Truth in a Gauntlet match for the Tuwaiq Trophy at Super ShowDown.

And what better way to hype up a clash between The Phenom and The Phenomenal One than by having Taker answer Styles' recent boasts.

AJ has been calling himself 'Mr WrestleMania', the nickname earned by Shawn Michaels, whose incredible career Undertaker ended in 2013.

All the way back in January 2018, ahead of Raw 25, Styles revealed to Mirror Sport that a match up with Taker at Mania was on his bucket list.

He told Mirror Sport's Neil Docking it would be a regret if he never got to stand across the ring from Taker, who at that stage was thought to be retired.

Styles said: "I would love to be able to learn from someone like that, I don't know if he's retired, I don't know what's going on, but that would be a regret that I may not ever have the opportunity to get in the ring with him."

This will be Undertaker’s first appearance in Saudi Arabia since last June's Crown Jewel event where he defeated Bill Goldberg in Jeddah.

He has wrestled on three of the four shows since WWE struck a 10-year deal with the General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia in 2018.

However, the future Hall of Famer did not appear on the last card held by WWE in the Middle East in October.

You can watch WWE Super ShowDown from 5pm UK time on WWE Network and BT Sport Box Office.
