The unbelievably 'rubbish' excuse the linesman gave Cardiff City for allowing THAT Chelsea goal

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock was still seething on Monday morning as he revealed the "rubbish" excuse the assistant referee gave him for missing Chelsea's goal that should never have been.

Warnock went on live radio this morning, telling talkSport details of what happened inside the dressing room at Cardiff City Stadium following the Bluebirds' gut-wrenching 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.

Cesar Azpilicueta's 84th minute equaliser was somehow allowed by the officials, despite him being yards offside. The Bluebirds were also denied two penalties and Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger should have been sent off. You can read full details of the shocking decisions here.

The Bluebirds went on to lose the game after substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a late header, with Warnock then involved in an on-pitch stand off with the officials after the game.

And the Cardiff boss has now revealed what happened after that.

"At this level, surely they have to get better coaching. He (the linesman) says that Willian got in his way or something! There's always somebody taking the corner kick, there's no invisible man. Surely he should get taught what to do if someone's taking a corner.

"We worked our socks off for three weeks to get where we were. We thought we could beat Chelsea and then a human error like this. It's just unbelievable. I can't describe the feeling.

"I went in to see them. Clive Whitehead from the Premier League was outside the dressing room before we even got in last night, saying 'I've come down because I know what Warnock is like'. What a load of rubbish that is.

"I went in 30 minutes after like we normally do and what do you get?

"The linesman, yesterday. 'I'm sorry I didn't see it, I was blinded', and this sorts of rubbish. Absolute rubbish.

"What could he do? He's got to apologise. He's seen it back and he knows what he's donbe. What good is an apology."
