'The Ultimatum: Queer Love' reunion was filled with plenty of drama—here's what happened after

the ultimatum queer love reunion

Don't sleep on The Ultimatum: Queer Love reunion. We know you've been preoccupied with the Vanderpump Rules secret, but trust us when we tell you there's plenty of drama to soak up on the Netflix series.

The final batch of episodes—reunion included—hit the streamer on Wednesday, June 7, and we're in shock over what transpired during the cast catch-up: a walk-out, an unexpected reconciliation and news of an arrest. Told you the drama was coming in spades!

“There was a huge gap from when we ended the show to when we did the reunion, so to see that charged environment was a surprise,” host JoAnna Garcia Swisher told Netflix Tudum. “People were ready to rumble, ready to be heard and ready to have their moment.”

Now, post-catch-up, it appears the course of the couples' relationships might change forever. Here's what you need to know.

'The Ultimatum: Queer Love' reunion recap

We learned that a year took place between the filming of the show and the reunion, leaving quite a bit of room for change. During the catch-up, we found out that, surprisingly, Xander Boger and series troublemaker Vanessa Papa reconciled, Tiff Derr and Mildred Woody had a horrific breakup, and Mildred was arrested for allegedly tossing a picture frame and dog gate at Tiff during a heated argument. At one point during the reunion, Tiff stormed off. Lexi Goldberg and Rae Cheung-Sutton managed to put the past behind them, too, as did Aussie Chau and Sam Mark, but not Mal Wright and Yoly Rojas.

What happened *after* 'The Ultimatum: Queer Love' reunion?

Looks like we need a reunion after the reunion! A lot managed to change for the cast, and they're catching us up via Netflix Tudum. Here's what happened since the show came to an end.

1. Only one couple is still together

Once the reunion had wrapped, The Ultimatum: Queer Love couples underwent more transformations, and the only pairing still currently together is Aussie and Sam.

Though Xander wanted marriage with Vanessa, she didn't fully trust her intentions, particularly after alleged unusual behavior.

“We didn't talk all year and then she reached out to me two weeks before the reunion,” she told Tudum. “After the reunion, it was just like, poof, she was gone. It felt like her intentions again were not in the right place and not in my best interest.”

Lexi and Rae also parted ways, and Lexi has even moved on—and keeps in touch with her newfound friendship with trial wife, Mal.

"I found somebody that gives me all of the love and happiness I felt with Mal, mixed with an intimacy that we’re exploring,” she said. “That’s truly what I always wanted when I knew my relationship with Rae was ending—somebody that made me feel the way I felt when I was with Mal and we were walking around San Diego calling each other our wives.”

2. Vanessa has a wedding invite

Though she was quickly labeled "the mean girl" of the season, Vanessa is one of the two cast members, including Tiff, who will be invited to Sam and Aussie's nuptials, reports Tudum. It came as a shock, considering Vanessa didn't seem to interact with these two while on camera. Vanessa, for her part, is spending time traveling and adjusting to a new life in Los Angeles.

"What I learned during the experience is to accept that I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and to just not let it bother me,” she said. “I’m going to do what I want in life and want to find the happiest version of myself.”

3. Best friends found their way to one another

Lexi and Mal seemingly had a great trial marriage and even potential for the future. Though they ultimately did not end up together, both parties told Tudum that their bond is forever.

“I don’t know that if Lexi and I were to run into each other, we would date,” Mal said. “But we built a lasting connection and a real, real friendship. She’s so dope. I just love her so much.”

Even if there's not a relationship, at least there's a solid friendship!
