Being pregnant is one of the most unique experiences of your life.

And throughout the long nine months, it's likely what you enjoy and what you have the energy to do will vary massively week by week.

During your different trimesters, there will be lots of times you will want to surround yourself with interesting/fun activities that won't put you under too much strain and might even help you prepare for you little bundle of joy's arrival.

Finding out what is going on in the city can feel like a minefield, especially if you're a first-time mum.

Swimming

Pregnant women can swim for free in all Bristol City Council's owned pools.

The light exercise is perfect for getting you ready for the birth by helping you keep active without feeling the great weight of your bump.

Pregnant women are advised to keep exercising without taking on anything too strenuous, so a light stroll around Bristol's many green spaces is an ideal activity.

However, you don't want to push yourself and you also need to pick a route that has lots of toilet options.

Snuff Mills has loos at the beginning and end of its route, as well as two well-stocked cafes.

Go to the cinema

Enjoy watching one of the latest blockbuster films in a cinema without any disruptions.

While there are baby cinemas for after your little one has arrived, it could be a long time before you are able to enjoy a film in one sitting.

A number of these classes run across the Bristol area. Specialists claim the sessions will help you prepare for the birth and minimise the chances of medical intervention.
