The Gaumont Plaza has been showing the latest movies since 1936 and now it’s been crowned as the Cheapest Cinema in the UK with a standard adult ticket costing just £3. Putting it into perspective, that’s a whole £6.33 cheaper than the national UK average.

“If you go a multiplex, you can be looking at £60 for a family day there,” says The Gaumont Plaza owner and film buff Alejandro Whyatt.

“My dad remembers the silent film days and how cinemas were affordable for the everybody. We offer something different from a multiplex, the building has a great character and prices to see a film are cheaper.”
