The UK's best beaches – what are your favourites?

Woolacombe beach in Devon has been named the UK’s best beach, according to TripAdvisor reviewers. The huge stretch of sand, popular with surfers, took the top spot in this year’s TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards for beaches.

Second place was taken by Weymouth beach on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, where visitors can still enjoy traditional activities such as donkey rides and Punch and Judy shows. Both beaches proved so popular that they even made it into the top 10 European beaches, competing with Mediterranean hotspots in Greece and Italy.
