The UK airport where ‘game-changing’ robots will park your car

  • London Gatwick Airport is set to launch the UK's first robotic airport parking service at its South Terminal.
  • Developed in partnership with Stanley Robotics, the system allows passengers to drive into a drop-off area, after which robots lift and park their cars in a secure space.
  • Drivers can keep their keys and, upon return, their vehicle will be waiting in a dedicated collection area.
  • According to Gatwick Airport, the service features 24-hour security patrols and an ANPR-controlled entry/exit system, and is expected to work with up to 95 per cent of car models.
  • Oli Bedford, head of airport access, marketing and commercial products at London Gatwick, said: “This is a real game-changer for our passengers. It’s quick, easy and completely hassle-free – and you even get to keep your keys, giving extra peace of mind while you’re enjoying your holiday.”
