The U to rebroadcast 6 Sky games

For Sky fans going through withdrawals, The U has you covered.

The U will be filling the void left by the postponed WNBA season by rebroadcasting six old Sky games, starting Sunday, the network announced Tuesday.

The U, which is the Sky’s broadcasting partner, will air the Sky’s July 7, 2018 game against the Wings at 1 p.m., which will be followed by the Sky-Sparks game from Aug. 16, 2019. The other four games will air in pairs June 6 and June 13.

The WNBA postponed its season April 3 over COVID-19 concerns and has been weighing its options since. With the help of public health experts, the league has started to lay out the blueprints of what a 2020 season might look like.

Two possible scenarios under consideration include having the season played at one neutral site or in areas that have had limited exposure to the coronavirus, commissioner Cathy Engelbert said last month. It’s expected that when the season starts, games will be played without fans.

With the season on hold indefinitely, The U’s decision to re-air games is welcomed. All matchups will be available on The U, Channels 48.1 and 26.2, XFINITY 230 and 360, Dish 48, RCN 610, WOW 170, Spectrum Charter 191 and U-Verse 24.
