The two words Ian Wright used to describe Granit Xhaka after Arsenal's goalless draw with Palace

Arsenal came back down to earth with a bit of a bump on Thursday night.

After ending their dismal run of form by stringing four consecutive wins together - three in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup - the Gunners laboured to a goalless draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

It was a result which left Arsenal in the bottom half of the table.

Arsenal enjoyed two-third of the possession in the match, but had one fewer shot than the visitors, who, arguably had the better chances.

Mikel Arteta's side missed the spark that Kieran Tierney provides down the left hand side, with the full-back suffering muscle fatigue and having an MRI scan on the injury today.

One player who always splits opinion in the Arsenal side is Granit Xhaka, who, according to football.london reporter Kaya Kaynak, actually had a decent game.

In our player ratings, Xhaka was given a seven, with Kaynak saying: "The Swiss international is often maligned for his defensive capabilities, but there were several occasions when Xhaka did well to stop Palace counter attacks with a few nifty interceptions. Was assured on the ball as well and had a solid game overall."

Ian Wright was not quite so effusive with his praise, and offered two very different words to describe Xhaka's performance.

Speaking to Premier League TV he said: "Xhaka, one minute he was unbelievable, the next minute he was calamitous. WE were saying we needed a Xhaka cam!"
