The two wonderkids Jose Mourinho has told Daniel Levy he wants in next season's Tottenham squad

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he wants two of the club's academy players in his Tottenham first-team squad next season.

Criticised in the past for not giving youth players a chance, the same cannot be said about his time in north London so far.

Handing Japhet Tanganga his league debut in January in the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool, the head coach has continued to use the defender over the course of the year.

Troy Parrott also made his Premier League debut in the drubbing of Burnley back in December, with Malachi Fagan-Walcott given his bow off the bench in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg tie against RB Leipzig.

Since the Premier League restart Mourinho has continued to name inexperienced players in his matchday squad following the new rule that allows clubs to name nine substitutes.

Young midfielder Harvey White was on the bench for the game against Manchester United, while on Monday evening the boss elected to name Dennis Cirkin in his squad for the victory over Everton.

Asked by football.london if a number of the players on the periphery of the team will get their chance in the team's remaining five league games, Mourinho stated that he wants both White and Cirkin in his first-team squad for the 2020/21 season.

"We're fighting for Euorpean positions. If you ask me would I prefer not to be in European football or play in the Europa League, I prefer Europa League so we have to fight for that," he said at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Bournemouth game.

"Other players have a chance to play, of course they have a chance to play but not because points are not important for us.

"They can play because they're good players and we trust the players. So at any time they can play.

"Even in relation to Cirkin and Harvey White, I already told the club that I would like them to be with me next season in the first team squad.

"It's the easiest way for them to develop, it's to train every day at the most demanding level.

"So we trust the kids and we're going to develop the kids."
