The two West Ham players David Moyes will be without for Chelsea clash

The final Premier League game before Christmas sees Chelsea host London rivals West Ham United.

Heading into the derby at Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard's side have suffered back-to-back defeats away at Everton as well as Wolves and have therefore slipped out of the top four.

Victory over the Hammers won't be enough to get back in the Champions League spots, although it will be enough to leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur and be the capital's number one club for Christmas.

With that said, West Ham do have the upper hand over Chelsea based on recent history.

United completed the double over the west London outfit last season, including a 1-0 win in the corresponding fixture and will be aiming for a third successive win

However, David Moyes is sweating on the fitness over a number of key players such as Fabian Balbuena and Michail Antonio.

"We are not too bad, one or two knocks," Moyes revealed in his pre-match press conference. "Fabian Balbuena missed midweek and I need to see how he is, I am not sure where he is going to be just yet.

"Micky Antonio is back on the grass so we are pleased with that, whether Monday is too soon we will need to assess as well.

"Overall, we have a few knocks and players carrying things but that would be normal getting to this stage of the season."

Meanwhile, Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Cresswell were also carrying knocks ahead of the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace last week, but both players featured with the latter being subbed off after 80 minutes.

According to Premier Injuries, the quartet have not yet been ruled out of the game and they are set to face late fitness tests.

If all past their respective tests, Moyes will have a near full-strength West Ham squad to choose from against Chelsea, but he will be without attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini who has ruled himself out of the game with a hamstring injury.

"Yes I am off tomorrow," Lanzini confirmed, as per Hammers News.

Lanzini joins long-term absentee Arthur Masuaku - expected to be out until at least March - as the two West Ham players Moyes will definitely be without against Chelsea.
