The two unexpected Premier League players Liverpool fans loved more than any other

Liverpool fans have been spoiled by some great players during the Premier League era at Anfield.

From homegrown stars such as Robbie Fowler and Steven Gerrard to big money signings like Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez, as well as the current crop of Anfield heroes, Liverpool have been lucky to have some of the world's best players.

But what about opposition players? Who has impressed Liverpool fans more than any other?

We asked supporters to name their favourite opposition players of the Premier League era on our Liverpool Facebook page - and two names cropped up more than any others.

Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.

The Arsenal duo hit 346 goals between them during their time with the Gunners, and hurt Liverpool on more than a few occasions to boot.

Henry scored nine times against the Reds during his time at Arsenal, with Dutchman Bergkamp notching six times against Liverpool.

Other names mentioned by fans included Chelsea's Italian maestro Gianfranco Zola, Newcastle hero Alan Shearer was another as well as Man City duo Sergio Aguero and David Silva.

In fact, a few fans even paid tribute to Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes - all legends at arch rivals Manchester United.
