The two Tottenham wonderkids who have been training with Jose Mourinho every day this week

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that both Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett have been training with the Tottenham Hotspur first team every day.

The two 16-year-old have broken records for club this season with their debuts under Mourinho.

First Scarlett became the youngest player to appear for the club in a competitive fixture when he came off the bench in the home Europa League group stage game against Ludogorets.

Devine then took that record off of him when he appeared as a substitute in the second half of Spurs' FA Cup third round tie at non-league Marine.

On top of that he also became the club's youngest ever goalscorer when he fired home to round off the 5-0 victory.

Mourinho appeared to be hinting towards the teenage duo when he told football.london that he believed the brightest talents in Tottenham's academy were 16-year-olds rather than in the older development squad bracket.

Devine and Scarlett have been training with the first team this season, having impressed Mourinho during pre-season and Devine was on the bench for the Premier League match at Brighton on Sunday.

On Wednesday, when answering a question about Serge Aurier, Mourinho admitted that the duo have continued to train with the first team but will go back to play for the U23s and U18s this week.

"Serge is fine. He's the only player back to the group," he said. "He's the only one so it's Alfie Devine that leaves the group.

"In spite of working with us, he and Dane Scarlett now they work with us every day, now they go back to the academy to play, in this case Devine will not be involved because Serge will occupy his place in the squad."
