Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly handed two promises to Antonio Conte as the Italian edges closer to becoming the club’s new head coach.
football.london understands that the former Chelsea man is likely to be unveiled by chairman Levy, with a deal imminent.
It comes after the four-time Serie A champions left Italian giants Inter Milan despite leading them to a domestic crown.
According to The Mirror, Conte has been promised a few things in order to bring him to North London.
The first is regarding transfer funds. The Italian reportedly had major concerns over Tottenham’s current squad and whether it is capable of competing for major honours.
Nevertheless, Levy is acutely aware that the current playing staff requires a major overhaul heading into the 2021/22 campaign so will provide Conte with considerable funds in order to complete that rebuild.
The club reportedly want to strengthen in central defence, at right back and in the centre of the park and require a fair chunk in which to do that.
Another doubt that the former Juventus tactician has is over the future of Harry Kane.
The England captain has made clear his decision to depart the club, with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all thought to be interested in signing him.
Levy though has given assurances to Conte that he will do his utmost in order to keep the striker at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the transfer window.
The forward, who netted 23 goals on route to the Premier League Golden Boot last season, still has three years left to run on his contract in North London.
