The two Man United players who will miss Tottenham Premier League clash

Tonight Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester United to north London in a fixture that could have huge implications on the top-four race.

The two teams are separated by three places and four points in the Premier League table, with the pressure slightly on the hosts as they are the ones playing catch up.

Having gone three games without a win prior to the season being suspended, Spurs are four points behind the Red Devils in the table and a further three behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Premier League match preview: Spurs v Man United

For the Lilywhites to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season, they must avenge the 2-1 loss at Old Trafford all the way back in December.

Speaking of United, head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer delivered some positive team news during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have recovered from back and ankle injuries respectively, so are set to make the matchday squad.

"The rest of the squad is fit, available," he said, as per the club's official website. "Marcus and Paul they have been out for a long, long period, but they are available, so how long they are going to play for, let's see."

Although, not everyone is fit as Solskjaer revealed there are two senior players who will miss tonight's Premier League game against the Lilywhites.

And it's defensive pair Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe.

"Yeah we’ve got a couple of injuries," the Red Devils boss revealed. "Axel will probably be missing and Phil Jones will be missing. Apart from that I would say everyone else is available for selection.

"Pre-season you want to give everyone a chance, everyone the same opportunity to stake a claim for the team. Everyone will play a part, we’ve got plenty of games.

"Hopefully we’ve got a few cup games, plus the league games and hopefully the Europa League, so we’ll be going into August some time."

As for Spurs, Jose Mourinho has named the one player who will definitely start against United.

"Harry Kane hasn't played football for more than six months. So again, he is working extremely well. I can tell you no problem, he's going to start the game," Mourinho revealed in his pre-match press conference. "Does Harry have 90, 80, 70, 60 minutes, I don't know. Only the game will tell us that.

"Is he on the top of his form? We don't know. It's not a little training session with our friends from Norwich that's going to tell us the answer. But for him he's around 6 months without playing a football match but he works extremely well. He's an amazing professional and he's going to start tomorrow."
