The two key Arsenal stars who missed training and will sit out Europa League clash vs Vitoria

Arsenal stars David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are set to be rested for the Europa League clash with Vitoria SC tomorrow (Thursday), football.london understands.

The duo have been regulars in the Arsenal side in recent weeks, with both featuring in the Europa League as the Gunners have enjoyed a 100 per cent start to the campaign in Europe.

After beating Eintracht Frankfurt and Standard Liege already in the competition, Arsenal will be looking to extend that tomorrow as they host the Portuguese side at the Emirates Stadium.

But Luiz and Aubameyang are set to miss out, after not being involved in training ahead of the game.

Luiz has made nine appearances in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season since his summer switch from Chelsea, with the Brazilian defender scoring his first goal for Arsenal in the 1-0 win against Bournemouth earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has eight goals in 11 appearances in all competitions this season, with the striker scoring in Arsenal's 3-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

But with the Gunners also in Premier League action against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, and with Alexandre Lacazette returning from injury in the 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United on Monday, Aubameyang is set to be rested for tomorrow's game.

It is understood that neither player has an injury, but are being rested with a busy period ahead for the Gunners.
