The two Bolton loanees who Wanderers are eyeing prospect of signing on permanent basis in summer

Ian Evatt says Bolton Wanderers are eyeing the prospect of signing loanees Oladapo Afolayan and Marcus Maddison permanently in the summer should all parties be in favour.

The duo were two of four signings the Trotters made on transfer deadline day on a busy day of business.

Attacker Maddison joined from League One Charlton Athletic while forward Afolayan has arrived from Premier League outfit West Ham United.

The duo have been signed on loan until the end of the season along with Burnley goalkeeper Lukas Jensen, while midfielder MJ Williams has joined on a permanent basis from Blackpool.

The quartet form part of eight signings the Trotters made over the past month.

Both Maddison and Afolayan are out of contract over the summer at their respective clubs.

And Evatt has raised the possibility of the duo extending their stays at the University of Bolton Stadium beyond the end of the present season, should all parties be in favour of it.

He said: “They were the targets that we had identified. Obviously Madders, for instance, that was the one that we were looking at evolving late and that did evolve late and we managed to swoop in there.

"Dapo was a player that I’ve admired for quite a while. He’s a really talented boy and it’s not just this season, we’re looking at him to be a Bolton player in the future and with Madders as well, they’re both out of contract in the summer.

"They can have a good look at us and we can have a good look at them.

"Lukas, we needed a goalkeeper. Lukas is 6ft 7ins and we had him in to look at to make sure he was what we think he is and he’s certainly done exceptionally well in training so we’re pleased with that one.

"MJ is a player that I wanted to sign in the summer and it didn’t happen for a number of reasons, but we’ve managed to get him, which will bolster our midfield and give Kieran Lee a partner.”
