The two big Chelsea transfer deals set to be completed after summer window closes

The minutes are ticking away until the summer transfer window closes and Chelsea are still looking to offload players.

David Luiz's move to Arsenal is set to be confirmed soon, while Danny Drinkwater's loan move to Burnley looks like it is all going ahead smoothly.

With the British transfer window closing at 5pm this afternoon, it means no Premier League or EFL club will be able to buy any more players.

However, that doesn't mean that some can't leave after this time with other transfer windows across Europe closing a lot later than the English teams have decided to do.

For example, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Italy all have transfer windows that close on September 2, and they can buy from British clubs.

Of course, that means that English teams can't replenish what they might lose, which Chelsea can't do in any case seeing as they have a transfer ban.

But there are two players in particular who are still likely to move on throughout August, even after 5pm today.

Tiemoue Bakayoko and Davide Zappacosta are both expected to move on either on loan or on permanent deals this month.

Zappacosta has been heavily linked with a move back to Italy, with the Blues looking to use Reece James as back-up to Cesar Azpilicueta this season.

Meanwhile, Bakayoko could make the move to Galatasaray after not being used by Frank Lampard in the last two pre-season matches of the summer.

Football.london understands that Bakayoko has been told to find another club with him not being part of the plans this season.

More foreign deals could be in the pipeline as well, with the likes of Lucas Pizaon also without a new club and not going to be part of the first team for the 2019/20 campaign.

But Zappacosta and Bakayoko are two players who are still likely to be moved on.
