Leeds United can take another huge step towards securing a Premier League return with victory over relegation-threatened Barnsley this evening.
The Whites go into the game fresh off a 1-0 win over Swansea City last time out.
That result moved coupled with West Brom's goalless draw with Fulham on Tuesday means Marcelo Bielsa's side are two points clear at the top of the Championship table with three games to go and will be favourites to overcome the Tykes at Elland Road.
However, Barnsley have lost just once since the restart as they look to avoid the drop, but manager Gerhard Struber admits his side are massive underdogs.
"Leeds are the big favourite in this game," he told reporters.
"We know this. But it’s not easy to play against Barnsley and we’ve shown this before, we’ve had good games against other massive opponents in West Brom and Fulham.
"Our duty is to give all that we can on Thursday to remain in the fight.
"There are areas we plan to exploit, we must find their weak spots."
The bad news for the visitors is that Elliott Simoes will miss the clash against Leeds United with ankle ligament damage.
"We have a problem with Elliott Simoes, he is not ready to play on Thursday," Struber told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"He has an issue with his ankle and it's swelling, it's a ligament problem, he's had a scan and I hope it's not a big impact. At the moment, he's not ready. This was from Saturday, it was a foul on him and a hit on his ankle.
"I hope it's not a rupture on the ligament but we will see in the next few hours."
As a result Simoes joins Romal Palmer as the two Barnsley players Struber will be without for the clash against United.
