The Twelfth: NI Fire and Rescue respond to 52 bonfire related incidents over the weekend

Fire services have responded to 52 bonfire related incidents over the past three days.

It comes after Twelfth of July celebrations took place across Northern Ireland over the weekend.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson, said:

“Between 6pm 12 July and 1am 13 July 2020, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) responded to 11 bonfire related incidents.

"NIFRS can confirm there were no attacks on fire service personnel or appliances at any of the above incidents.

"Overall, for the above period, NIFRS received a total of 76 emergency calls and attended 45 operational incidents, including property fires, special service calls, gorse and other types of emergency incidents.

"In total, over the bonfire period from 6pm Friday 10 July to 8am Monday 13 July 2020, NIFRS attended a total of 52 bonfire related incidents.

"NIFRS can confirm there were no attacks on fire service personnel or appliances at any of the bonfire incidents during this period."
