When NFL teams decided not to ban the Tush Push, they made a clear declaration that the famous Eagles play was here to stay, for now. They also made an indirect statement—that the controversial play needs to be in Madden 26.
For those football fans living under a rock, the Tush Push is an almost indefensible play the Philadelphia Eagles have made famous. In it, the team gets in a very tight formation. The quarterback takes the snap and is pushed by the players behind him over the first-down line or the goal line. The play is used almost exclusively in very short yardage situations. Barring the team screwing it up, it’s nearly impossible to stop.
Put The Tush Push In Madden 26

Developers have limited time to give to new features. That’s especially true in sports games. A yearly development cycle makes it risky for Madden developers to include a play that might be outlawed. With the play now safe, the Madden team knows it can drive online players insane for years. So now is the time, EA Orlando.
The downside of including the Tush Push is that it might break the game. The Tush Push would get spammed relentlessly in online games. I can already imagine Connected Franchise leagues looking to ban the play in their leagues. The Madden community, known for its measured responses to change, would light up the boards. Fans would be screaming that the game is ruined and that they’re not buying it. It’d be the worst response to a Madden addition since… last year?
But is it really different from how the QB sneak gets used now? Let’s be honest, Madden fans. In Madden 25, when you need a yard, you’re calling up the QB sneak. Your online opponent curses you just like you do when they line up for the play. It would also make the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive playbook highly sought after in Madden Ultimate Team.
If It’s In The Game, It’s In The Game
There’s also an argument to be made that Madden 26 is a simulation game. As a simulation, it should be as true to the sport as possible. If that’s truly the case, the Tush Push should be in Madden 26. Some parts of the NFL are annoying to endure as a fan. Especially if you’re a Cowboys, Commanders, or Giants fan. Who is EA to deprive us all of that feeling in our favorite football simulation?
Remember, EA. If it’s in the game, it’s in the game. The Tush Push is in the NFL to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. It should be in your game, too. We all crave the rage (and realism) this will bring. So, EA, make it happen. Just maybe give us a way to stop it, too.
