The tucked-away weekend treehouse just a short drive from Liverpool

Liverpool certainly has no shortage of beautiful places to spend the weekend  - but if you’re looking for something a little further afield, we’ve got you covered.

Cosy cottages and luscious lodges are the go-to for many now, so how about a getaway at a luxury treehouse?

Tucked away in the Welsh town of Ceredigion, Ty'r Onnen Treehouse is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway.

Located in a secluded spot at Moelgolomen, a family-run organic farm around 10 miles from Aberystwyth, you can find the treehouse by following a trail of fairylights.

The fairy tale woodland wedding venue right here on Merseyside

Ty'r Onnen sits at the top of a hill, and offers stunning views across the countryside from its wrap-around panoramic balcony.

Inside, there is an open-plan living space with a king-size bed, a woodburner that’s perfect for curling up in front of, a bathroom and cooking facilities including a gas cooker and double oven.

The treehouse gives visitors the chance to be completely off the grid, with no WiFi or mobile reception - and no interuptions.

Found on the edge of a meadow alongside a babbling brook running down the field, the eco-retreat was built and is run with the environment at the heart of its ethos.

Guests are greeted with a welcome hamper which is filled with fresh eggs and bread for a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore the farm.

Gorgeous lodges and cabins to book for a cosy weekend away

You can even venture into the nearby village of Talybont for lunch or an evening meal.

In the summertime, Ty'r Onnen’s wrap-around balcony offers the perfect spot for private sunbathing - and there’s even an outside shower if you're feeling brave.

During the evening, guests can make the most of the fire pit, catching up, enjoy a hot chocolate and even stargazing, or, if you’re stuck for ideas, there are board games and puzzles dotted around the treehouse for inspiration.
