The Welsh government have issued a statement following rumours that alcohol sales are set to banned in Wales.
Some members of the Welsh public have been convinced that alcohol sales are due to be banned in Wales from December 17.
They believe that ministers are considering banning the sale in supermarkets and off licences as part of new restrictions before Christmas.
But a spokesman for the Welsh Government said: "There is absolutely no truth in this." - reports Wales Online.
On December 4 hospitality businesses in Wales – such as pubs, cafes, restaurants, sports clubs must not sell alcohol for consumption on the premises, and have to close from 6pm. Take-away services can be provided, including the sale of alcohol until 10pm.
The current rules from the Welsh Government are that off-licences, including supermarkets, will have to stop selling alcohol at 10pm. This also applies to click and collect and deliveries of alcohol, such as through a home delivery app.
Licensed premises operating take-away services and off-licences cannot begin to sell alcohol again until 6am the next day.
Dr Frank Atherton told the latest Welsh Government briefing that the Welsh Cabinet would be meeting this week to look at what he described as "other options" to try and get the virus under control.

But a complete ban on the sale of alcohol is not likely to be one of the topics under discussion.
Ministers are constantly monitoring the situation as the number of cases in Wales continue to soar.
