The truth behind Man Utd pair Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard’s ‘bust-up’ video

Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons as Manchester United touched down in Perth to begin their pre-season tour.

Just hours after stepping off the plane in Australia, a clip shared on United’s official Twitter account appeared to show the pair involved in a heated exchange and separated by Victor Lindelof.

It sparked major concern from fans that there is already unrest in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dressing room as they prepare for a huge season.

With Paul Pogba determined to leave the club amid concerns he might not report for their flight Down Under, the clip seemed to illustrate his unhappiness.

But extended footage released on Tuesday appeared to provide more context to the incident and play-down the fears it could have turned nasty.

Full footage showed Lingard - who initially looked angry after Pogba confronted him - laughing hysterically just a few seconds after the conversation.

Pogba, who also looked stern in the initial exchange, also displayed a wry smile suggesting Lingard may have simply exchanged some of his banter with the Frenchman and messed around in front of the cameras.

Whilst concerns of a dressing room conflict might have been far-fetched, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still facing a daunting pre-season.

The futures of Pogba and striker Romelu Lukaku remain up in the air as they eye fresh challenges, whilst Nemanja Metic and Victor Lindelof are also said to be considering their futures.

It is not all doom and gloom for the Norwegian, however, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James said to be settling into their new surroundings well after completing summer moves to the Red Devils.

Midfielder Scott McTominay said: "They are young boys, aren't they, so it is easy for them to come in, settle in and be part of the group straight away. You can see that with the pair of them.

"They are both very nice boys and very hard-working boys as well. That is one thing that will be demanded of them on this pre-season trip. It is important that we do get that bond."
