This is a gripping fast-moving story about Louis, the fearless Trumpeter Swan, who sadly was born without a voice and so is unable to trumpet happily with his four siblings.
Sam Beaver, an eight-year old boy who loves birdlife, gradually gets to know Louis' family and helps Louis see the joy in everyday life. Louis falls in love with a beautiful swan who pays him no attention. How can he gain her attention without a voice? Can Sam help?
Although E.B. White is better known for his wonderful Charlotte's Web, I have to say that this book is just as good - or maybe even better - in my opinion. So give it a go, pick it up and hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as me!
