The truly brilliant try with stunning offloads getting more rugby TikTok views than anything else

Fast-paced rugby, ingenious dummy lines and marvellous offloads. This try from the New South Wales Waratahs in 2014 is the most watched rugby video on TikTok.

The clip is taken from a Super Rugby pre-season match in 2014, where the NSW Waratahs played host to Auckland Blues at Allianz Stadium. The Waratahs' team was jam-packed with famous Test stars, including Kurtley Beale, Bernard Foley, Michael Hooper and Israel Folau.

Foley inspired the quick play with a great looping move, passing and receiving the ball again. Dummy runners flew in to ensure the heat was taken off the ball carrier. Jono Lance offloaded to Alofa Alofa, who impressively popped back inside to Peter Betham as he fell to the ground.

Alofa collected Foley's offload and dived into the corner to complete a truly sensational score, worthy of the colossal TikTok viewing figures. The tryscorer went on to play at Harlequins in 2016, before moving onto Bayonne where he now plays.

The video's caption is 'the most satisfying play ever', and after such seamless attacking rugby it is hard to disagree. The video has accumulated 26 million views and almost four million likes. It is the most liked rugby video on the platform.

The TikTok audience were gob-smacked by the incredible try, "the chemistry and trust these guys have is amazing", said one.

"This is the rugby version of Tiki Taka" said another.

The Waratahs beat the Blues 33-12 in this pre-season game, but this was just a taste of what was to come. The New South Wales team went on to win Super Rugby Pacific in 2014.
