The true worth of Man City's squad revealed ahead of the January transfer window

After the arrival of Jack Grealish for £100million in the summer transfer window, Manchester City have the most valuable squad in Europe ahead of the January transfer window.

With Barcelona set to sign Ferran Torres from City for around £55 million, despite the Spaniard only being at the club since August 2020, the fee received from Barcelona would be over double what Pep Guardiola spent on Torres.

Going into the January window, City have been rumoured to dip into the transfer market for reinforcements as they continue their Premier League and UEFA Champions League hunt.

But what about the value of the squad that City already have at their disposal?

Let's take a look at the value of every first-team player at Man City, as of December, 2021.

We’ve teamed up with LiveScore to invite fans to vote for their favourite results - the games which were much more than a score. Vote for the match that mattered to you here .

Ederson (28)

The Brazilian has been a staple in Guardiola's side since his arrival in 2017 and has become one of the worlds best goalkeepers, winning the Premier League Golden Glove award twice in that time.

Value: £45m

Zack Steffen (26)

The United States international has kept eight clean sheets in 17 appearances for City, proving a worthy back-up to Ederson when called upon. Currently tied to City until 2025, Steffen looks to be the number two at the club for years to come.

Value: £5.4m

Scott Carson (36)

Carson's one appearance so far for City came in last season's 4-3 win over Newcastle United. The 36-year-old is the third-choice 'keeper at the club, and his influence to the side is more off than on the pitch.

Value: £270k

Ruben Dias (24)

A revelation of a signing for Man City, Ruben Dias has become the most integral part of City's defence and was influential in last season's Premier League victory. Deservedly won the Premier League Player of the Year award, and is one of the highest-valued defenders in the world.

Value: £67.5m

Aymeric Laporte (27)

Struggled for game time last season as John Stones formed a formidable partnership alongside Dias, but has become a regular in Guardiola's defence once again this campaign.

Value: £40.5m

John Stones (27)

Stones became a real fan favourite last season as he hit his best form since his arrival at City in 2016, but his value has dropped this season due to being pushed out the starting XI by Aymeric Laporte.

Value: £25.2m

Nathan Ake (26)

The Dutch international has never lived up to his £41million price tag during his City career, with the defender currently fourth in the pecking order for City's centre-backs.

Value: £25.2m

Oleksandr Zinchenko (25)

Oleksandr Zinchenko has made over 100 appearances for City since signing for the club for a believed fee of £1.7million in 2016 and has very much been a part of Guardiola's plans for the last few years.

Value: £22.5m

Joao Cancelo (27)

Arguably the best City player this season, Cancelo has transformed himself into one of the best full-backs in the world after an unconvincing first season at the club, ultimately seeing his value increase.

Value: £54m

Kyle Walker (31)

Kyle Walker joined City in 2017 and has been a regular in the side ever since. Despite not starting as many games this season due to Cancelo's incredible form, the defender still remains at a high-value for his age.

Value: £22.5m

Rodri (25)

Another player who has blossomed into one of the worlds best in his position under Guardiola, Rodri is one of the club's most important players in his role. Still only 25, the midfielder's value is set to steadily increase over the next few years.

Value: £63m

Fernandinho (36)

A Man City legend, the 36-year-old is coming towards the end of his career and his value reflects it. Still a trusty midfielder when called upon, Fernandinho sees limited game time of recent.

Value: £1.8m

Phil Foden (21)

Phil Foden is one of the worlds most exciting talents, with the midfielder already having made over 140 appearances under Guardiola at 21-years-old. His age along with his outrageous ability sets him up as one of the most valuable players in the world.

Value: £76.5m

Kevin De Bruyne (30)

Kevin De Bruyne has had his fair share of injury problems over the last few seasons, but it takes nothing away from his ability, with the Belgian labelled as one of the world's best midfielders. Now in his 30's, De Bruyne is still one of the world's most valuable players.

Value: £81m

Bernardo Silva (27)

After looking likely to leave City in the summer, the midfielder remained at the Etihad and has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. His versatility, work-rate and sublime ability on the ball will no doubt make him a sought-after asset next summer.

Value: £67.5m

Cole Palmer (19)

Still only 19-years-old, Cole Palmer has been trusted on many occasions by Guardiola this season, and the maturity shown for his age has made him a favourite of the boss. Palmer has been pushed into the first-team this season and already made a handful of appearances.

Value: £2.7m

Raheem Sterling (27)

With the addition of Grealish, Raheem Sterling's has seen his game-time slashed, leading to rumours of the attacker leaving as early as January. This seems unlikely, though, with the 27-year-old having been one of City's best players over the last few seasons and remains a major threat today.

Value: £76.5m

Jack Grealish (26)

Grealish hasn't struggled since arriving in Manchester, but he's yet to hit a good enough level to match his £100million price tag.

Value: £72m

Ferran Torres (21)

The forward has been injured for the majority of the season with a broken foot, and after just one and a half years at the club, he looks to be leaving for Barcelona for a reported fee of around £55million.

Value: £40.5m

Riyad Mahrez (30)

A fantastic Premier League career has seen Riyad Mahrez shape himself into one of the Premier League's most dangerous wingers, but with the Algerian now in his 30's and his contract expiring in 2023, the winger's value has dropped since his £60million move from Leicester in 2018.

Value: £36m

Kayky (18)

Yet to make an appearance for City, Kayky is one of the most promising young prospects in world football. The 18-year-old signed for City in the summer for £9million, and City fans are desperate to finally see the youngster in sky blue.

Value: £12.6m

Gabriel Jesus (24)

The only recognised striker at the club, Gabriel Jesus has been transformed into a right-winger by Guardiola this season and seems to be enjoying his best football at the club in years.

Value: £54m
