The true worth of Arsenal's squad and how much Mikel Arteta can raise through player sales

For the second time in as many summers, the Arsenal squad received a mini overhaul.

In 2018 there were five new arrivals, while the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez were all allowed to depart the Emirates Stadium on permanent deals.

Then last summer, Laurent Koscielny, Alex Iwobi, Carl Jenkinson, Aaron Ramsey, Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck were just a number of high-profile exits at the north London outfit.

Arsenal: The season so far

It's expected to be a busy summer with links to the likes of Dayot Upamecano, Odsonne Edouard and Carlos Soler among others heating up in recent days.

Although, with reports that the Gunners will once again have a limited transfer budget, head of football Raul Sanllehi technical director Edu and will have to be shrewd in the market.

The Germany World Cup winner was signed for big money in 2016 and still has a few more years left to run on his contract. 13.5m

David Luiz

Sead Kolasinac

He is still not as comfortable as a left-back, a different prospect at left-wing back. The Bosnian arrived on a free from Schalke in the summer of 2017 and has proven to be a useful attacking weapon. £18m

Hector Bellerin

If all goes to plan the Spaniard will be the Gunners' first-choice right-back for many years to come, good thing they secured him to a long-term deal in 2016. £36m

Another who has seen his season curtailed because of injury. £16.2m

Cedric Soares

Also on loan at Arsenal, but is yet to make an appearance. Out of contract at parent club Southampton in the summer. £9m

Midfielders

Bukayo Saka

Arsenal's breakout youngster of the season. It's vital the club tie him down to a new deal as soon as possible. £19.8m

The highest-paid player at the club. Ozil's stock has dropped following indifferent form since Arsene Wenger's exit. £19.8m

Reiss Nelson

The young winger is someone who could really benefit from Arteta's coaching methods. £12.6m

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Gunners captain is being linked with a summer exit as he's got just over a year remaining on his contract. If sold he could fund a squad overhaul this summer. £63m

Alexandre Lacazette

Questions remain as to if Lacazette has justified his £46.5m transfer fee. Another who could command a decent transfer fee if the Gunners decide to sell. £54m

Gabriel Martinelli

The Brazilian was an unknown quantity last summer, but his £6m transfer was one of - if not the - the bargains of last summer. £25.2m

Eddie Nketiah

The young striker returned to Arsenal in January after spending the first half of the season at Leeds United and has shown he has an eye for goal. £10.8m
