The true value of Chelsea's squad and how much Frank Lampard can raise through player sales

Chelsea have already made one big signing ahead of the summer transfer window in the shape of Hakim Ziyech.

The Morocco international's €40m (£33.4m) move from Ajax which could potentially increase to a maximum of €44m (£36.7m) with variable factors will go through on July 1, 2020.

He could be one of several signings made by the west London outfit as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his squad for the 2020/21 season.

Chelsea: The season so far

This wasn't the case last summer as Mateo Kovacic was the sole signing.

Chelsea's transfer ban meant Lampard was not able to add to his squad further and despite the club's successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, no additions were made in the January transfer window either.

That's expected to change once this season eventually finishes and Ziyech could be the start of something exciting.

It remains to be seen how many new players will be coming through the door at Stamford Bridge in the summer, but it's looking likely that there will be a lot of outgoings in order to trim the current size of the squad.

Here we take a look at the true value of Chelsea's squad (valuations via transfermarkt.com ) and what the club could make if they decide to cash in on some players this summer

Goalkeepers

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Arrived for a world record £71million fee in the summer of 2018, although that figure was inflated such was Chelsea's need for a new keeper before the window closed.

His value has decreased as a result of some unconvincing performances which saw him dropped prior to the suspension of football across Europe.

There is talk of him leaving this summer. £36m

Willy Caballero

The back-up keeper who recently had a run in the team is out of contract in the summer, but could sign another one-year extension. £675k

Defenders

Antonio Rudiger

A key member of Chelsea's squad now, if anyone wants to take Rudiger away from the Bridge they'll have to pay a lot of money. £45m

Kurt Zouma

Has benefited from Chelsea not being able to sign new players last summer as he's been a regular under Lampard this season. £31.5m

Andreas Christensen

The Dane was tipped for great things at a young age, but his progress has stalled somewhat. Still has time on his hands to nail down a regular place in central defence. £27m

Fikayo Tomori

One of many Blues youngsters to have signed a new deal this season, meaning his value has increased and he's also done well when called upon this term. £18m

Emerson

Very much out of favour under Lampard this season and the Blues are eyeing a move for a new left-back this summer. Perhaps selling the Italy international could fund a deal for either Ben Chilwell or Alex Telles? £27m

Marcos Alonso

In a similar boat to Emerson, but forced his way into Lampard's plans prior to the season being brought to a halt. Faces dropping down the pecking order if a left-back arrives this summer. £22.5m

Cesar Azpilicueta

The club captain. At 29 he is one of Chelsea's more experienced players and has been key for the club since joining in 2012. £27m

Reece James

Outstanding in the Championship last season and has carried that form into this season. Signed a new deal earlier in the season, but there's no chance of the Blues selling him anytime soon. £22.5m

Midfielders

Jorginho

A big money signing prior to Lampard's arrival Jorginho has proved his importance to the team once again this season. But he has been linked with Juventus and reunion with Maurizio Sarri. £58.5m

N'Golo Kante

His season has been disrupted by injuries, but his value remains very high. £90m

Mateo Kovacic

Joined permanently last summer and has proven many wrong with a number of outstanding performances this season. £40.5m

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Was beginning to establish his place in the Chelsea midfield prior to injury, his stock will only continue to rise once he's fully fit and playing regularly. £27m

Ross Barkley

Yet to convince every Chelsea fan since his move from Everton, but was finding form before the Premier League suspension. £24.3m

Billy Gilmour

Brilliant against Liverpool and Everton, one for the future. His value will only increase in the coming years. £5.4m

Marco van Ginkel

Hasn't played in over a year, therefore his value has dropped. £3.6m

Lewis Baker

At 24 years of age, it's not going to happen for Baker at Chelsea. On loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf this season and the German club have the option to buy. £3.15m

Danilo Pantic

Another forgotten midfielder with no future at the club. £1.62m

Mason Mount

Began the season superbly, had a little dip and looked to be getting back to top form prior to the pause in the season. £40.5m

Forwards

Callum Hudson-Odoi

A high valuation despite his injury problems over the past 12 months - the 18-year-old's value will only rise and rise. £31.5m

Christian Pulisic

Chelsea splashed the cash at the turn of 2019 after striking a £57.6m deal with Borussia Dortmund for the United States international. Has had a decent start to life in England. £54m

Willian

Rejected the club's offer of a two-year deal as he wants an extra year. As thing stand he's set to leave when his contract expires in June and the Blues will miss out on a decent fee. £25.2m

Pedro

Looks set to leave Chelsea his summer, despite insisting a decision hasn't been made yet. £10.8m

Tammy Abraham

Chelsea's leading scorer this season, has adapted to life in the Premier League very well. His value has sky-rocketed this season and could increase if he signs a new deal. £45m.

Michy Batshuayi

Perhaps the most at risk if a new centre-forward arrives at Stamford Bridge this summer. £19.8m

Olivier Giroud

Another who is out of contract this summer, although the Frenchman's value is dropping. £8.1m
