After a wonderful World Cup with England last summer, the full-back endured a mixed season with Tottenham Hotspur last term with fitness issues and a lack of form stopping him from reaching the levels that we had come to expect.

Making his first appearance in a Madrid derby, Trippier's new club secured a stunning 7-3 victory over arch rivals Real Madrid, with former Chelsea star Diego Costa scoring four goals.
