Fans of The Trip were overjoyed to learn that Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan are working on a brand new series.
Brydon shared a photo alongside Coogan where he announced that they were discussing the fourth instalment of the popular comedy series that will see them venture to Greece.
The caption read: “Lunch with a friend to discuss ‘The Trip To Greece.’”
The Trip – co-created by Brydon, coogan and director Michael Winterbottom – began on BBC Two in 2010 with a series that saw them embark on a restaurant tour of northern England. Later outings saw them repeat the formula in Italy and Spain, the last of which aired in 2017.
Episodes were eventually cut together into a feature-length film by IFC Films.
In the series, the actors play ficitional versions of themselves.
Coogan most recently appeared inStan & Ollie, playing Stan Laurel opposite John C Reilly’s Oliver Hardy. He’ll next be seen on the big screen alongside Isla Fisher in Greed, which was directed by Winterbottom.
Next month, he'll reprise the character of Alan Partridge for a brand new BBC series.
It’s unknown when The Trip to Greece will go into production, but expect impressions galore whenever it does.
