The tricky Premier League games facing Jose Mourinho and Tottenham after Europa League fixtures

Jose Mourinho and Tottenham will soon discover their Europa League opponents as we edge ever closer to the start of the 2020/21 season.

The draw for the second qualifying round of the competition takes place on Monday, August 31, with the third qualifying round draw commencing the following day.

Spurs' European adventure is set to begin five days after the start of the new Premier League campaign and September is going to be a torturous month for the club with Carabao Cup football also on the agenda.

As the new season has to be played in a shorter time period this year after the previous campaign went on much longer due to the coronavirus pandemic, players are going to have very little rest between games if they are competing in a number of competitions.

Tottenham fixture list

One thing Mourinho and his players are going to have to contend with this season is playing across Europe on a Thursday evening before then getting down to Premier League action on a Sunday.

Numerous managers have complained about the scheduling in the past, with many keen to point out that they face tricky away games against the league's best sides so soon after returning home.
