- A new pilot programme, One Stop Security (OSS), is launching this month to streamline airport customs for travellers on connecting flights from London to the US.
- The scheme allows some American Airlines passengers flying from London Heathrow to Dallas Fort Worth International to clear US Customs at their arrival gate and have checked luggage automatically transferred.
- This partnership between the TSA, US Customs and Border Protection, and the UK Department for Transport is expected to cut connection times by over half.
- Delta passengers are also trialling OSS on routes from Heathrow to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, though bypassing TSA screening requires Global Entry or the Mobile Passport Control app.
- The TSA indicates that the OSS programme, which follows a successful international pilot from Heathrow, could be expanded to other US airports soon.
