The biggest transfer news from West Ham on deadline day were the arrivals of Croatian international Nikola Vlasic and Czech Republic midfielder Alex Kral to the London Stadium.
The signing of Kral was the key to Conor Coventry being allowed to leave the Hammers on loan for the remainder of the season at Championships outfit Peterborough.
Coventry is not the only Hammer out on loan this season with fellow first-team squad member Frederik Alves also sent out to get regular minutes into his legs.
Denmark Under-21 international Alves has headed to the north-east for a season of League One football with Sunderland.
The Dane is yet to make a league appearance for the Black Cats but played 76 minutes in their 3-2 League Cup victory over Blackpool.

The West Ham Under-23 team are competing in the Premier League 2, the Premier League Cup and the EFL Trophy this season but such is the strength in the age group teams, a number of players have been loaned out.
Five members of the Under-23 team are with other clubs for this season with the game to get regular first-team football experience.
Mipo Odubeko recently signed a new West Ham contract until the summer of 2023 and was then loaned out to Championship outfit Huddersfield Town. The striker's debut for the Terriers could come on September 11 against Stoke City.
Nathan Holland joins Alves in League One with the winger returning to Oxford United for a second loan spell following a successful move in the 2020-21 season.
So far this season Holland has played seven times in all competitions for Oxford United scoring once in an EFL Cup match.
One tier down from Holland is Joseph Anang with the goalkeeper spending the season on loan to League Two side Stevenage FC.
Anang missed Boro's last match through injury but prior to that had started seven consecutive matches, keeping two clean sheets.
Fellow goalkeeper Nathan Trott is spending this season in France with Ligue 2 club AS Nancy Lorraine.
Trott's French team are having a tough time of things managing just one point from their opening six matches and sitting bottom of the table. Trott has started all but one match and is yet to keep a clean sheet conceding 11 goals in five matches.
Goncalo Cardoso is currently seven months into an 18-month loan deal between West Ham and Swiss team FC Basel.
The Portuguese defender has made just one cup appearance so far this season and has only been included in one matchday squad in the Swiss Super League.
