The transfer warning Kieran Trippier has given Burnley star Dwight McNeil amid Arsenal links

Former Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Tripper has warned Burnley winger Dwight McNeil about the prospect of sealing a summer move to Arsenal.

Plenty of interest is soaring in the 20-year-old ahead of the summer after a very impressive season for the Clarets so far, in which he has scored two goals and claimed five assists.

Though the winger is being linked with a move away from Turf Moor, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United all said to be monitoring the England Under-21 international, Trippier, a former Burnley player himself, is warning the youngster to think about his next move before jumping at the opportunity to join one of the Premier League's top-end clubs.

Speaking to the Burnley Express, as quoted by the Express, Trippier said: "Dwight has burst onto the scene, and when he trained with us last season for England he was brilliant.

Arsenal behind the scenes on the impact on transfers this summer and the next great creative midfielder

"He's got to stay focused, keep performing well while he's young, and his time will come.

"I'd say 'don't rush anything, just keep playing' and Dwight is at the right club to do that. He just needs to keep playing games, because that's the most important thing for somebody his age.

"He's got the right manager to guide him and he'll be in no rush to go anywhere. If I was him I'd stay put and keep playing games."
