The Traitors: Where are the cast from the first season now?

When The Traitors first hit our screens in late 2022, no one could have predicted just how quickly it would become a national obsession. With Claudia Winkleman’s perfectly timed pauses, a Scottish castle filled with paranoia, and contestants plotting each other’s demise over breakfast, it was the perfect blend of tension, strategy, and British awkwardness.

Series 1 introduced us to an unforgettable group of players — from master manipulator Wilf Webster to bubbly winner Meryl Williams, from loyal Faithfuls like Hannah Byczkowski and Aaron Evans to unpredictable characters like Maddy Smedley and Andrea Addison. Whether you were rooting for the Traitors or praying the Faithfuls would finally get it right, the show’s first season cemented its place in reality TV history.

Here’s what the cast of season one are up to now.

Aaron Evans – Winner

Aaron Evans first gained national attention as a contestant on the inaugural season of The Traitors UK.

As a Faithful, Evans navigated the game's intricate dynamics, ultimately emerging as one of the three winners, sharing the £101,050 prize with Meryl Williams and Hannah Byczkowski.

Despite facing suspicion and narrowly avoiding banishment, Evans strategic gameplay and charismatic presence won over both fellow contestants and viewers.

Following his success on The Traitors, Evans transitioned from his role in real estate to pursue a career as a deckhand on superyachts.

His reality TV journey continued with several notable appearances.

In 2024, Evans sought romance on Channel 4's First Dates, where he shared a memorable date with a woman named Laura. The same year, he also joined Love Island USA and Celebrity Mastermind.

Meryl Williams - Winner

Following her success on The Traitors, Williams has pursued various opportunities in the public eye.

She has been involved in charity events, including attending The Traitors Live Experience x Comic Relief in September 2025, where she shared moments on social media.

Additionally, Williams has used her platform to advocate for the dwarfism community, aiming to raise awareness and challenge misconceptions.

Hannah Byczkowski – Winner

Hannah Byczkowski transitioned into stand-up comedy after winning The Traitors.

She has been described as a "powerhouse performer" who brings observational and relatable material to the stage. Byczkowski has performed at various comedy venues, including Top Secret Comedy Club in Covent Garden, London.

She also co-hosts the popular podcast Ghost Huns with fellow comedian Suzie Preece.

The podcast delves into spooky tales and paranormal experiences, offering a humorous take on the supernatural. Since its inception, Ghost Huns has garnered a substantial following and the duo embarked on their first UK tour in 2024, selling out venues such as Bush Hall in London with their Halloween special.

Wilf Webster – Traitor

Following his appearance on the show, Webster transitioned into a career as a content creator and TV personality. He amassed over 520,000 followers on TikTok and 130,000 on Instagram, where he engages audiences with street interviews and pop culture commentary.

In addition to his social media presence, Wilf has made television appearances, including a panellist role on Would I Lie to You? in January 2024.

In September 2022, Webster married his partner Panayiota in a ceremony that garnered media attention. The couple share a daughter and frequently appear together in public and on social media.

Despite his success as a content creator, Webster has expressed a desire to transition into television presenting. He aspires to host game shows and diversify his career beyond his initial reality TV fame.

Maddy Smedley – Faithful

Since her appearance on The Traitors, Smedley has pursued a career in acting.

Smedley joined the cast of Channel 4's Hollyoaks as Faye Fuller, a talent agent for influencer Rayne Royce. Her character was described as "trashy, sassy and a bit cutthroat," bringing a mix of Del Boy and Deborah Meaden to the role.

In 2024, she also appeared in the Christmas Day special as Dilys Shaughnessy, a pregnant mother, showcasing her versatility in period drama.

In the same year, she portrayed Sally, a fresher, in the second series of Channel 4's Big Boys.

Amos Ogunkoya – Faithful

Prior to his television appearance, Ogunkoya had a distinguished medical career. He qualified as a GP after completing his training, which included two years on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ogunkoya holds a Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine and has worked as the team doctor for Colchester United. In 2023, he made history by becoming the youngest first-team club doctor in the Premier League when he was appointed to Luton Town FC.

Since his appearance on The Traitors, Ogunkoya has become a regular contributor to UK daytime television, offering health advice on programs like Morning Live and Jeremy Vine.

He has also been involved in public health campaigns, including promoting the British Heart Foundation's Learn CPR initiative. In late 2024, Ogunkoya met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss the future and needs of the NHS.

Andrea Addison – Faithful

Andrea Addison was the 72-year-old faithful who captivated audiences.

Since her appearance on The Traitors, Addison has returned to her life in Belgium, where she continues to enjoy her retirement. She has been active on social media, particularly Instagram, where she shares her passion for art, including her owl-themed creations.

Addison has occasionally engaged with the media post-show. She participated in an interview with Gaydio, discussing her experience on The Traitors and her life since the show.

Tom Elderfield & Alex Gray – Couple

Tom Elderfield entered the game with a secret relationship with Alex Gray. They kept their relationship hidden initially; later, Tom revealed that “Alex isn’t a traitor… she’s my girlfriend.”

He said that he didn’t really know whether Gray was a Traitor when he made that reveal, because contestants are forbidden from disclosing roles or alliances, or you risk voiding things.

Professionally, Elderfield is a magician while Gray is a presenter and actor.

The pair are still together. They recently bought their first house together and are renovating it.
