The Traitors' Welsh Amanda Lovett star teases TV return

The Traitors star Amanda Lovett has expressed a desire to do more reality TV work. The revelation comes after she won over the hearts of viewers during her time on the smash-hit BBC reality series, which was hosted by Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman.

"I’d love to do a reality TV show where the public vote rather than getting banished or murdered," said the 54-year-old estate agent, who lives in the Swansea valley. She then added: "There’s a lot of irons on the fire at the moment with TV so yeah I’m not going anywhere!"

Amanda was speaking at the 2023 Gaydio Awards, which was also attended by Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies and new BBC Radio 2 host Owain Wyn Evans. Here, she told The Metro how she'd been "embraced and welcomed" by the LGBT+ community.

Amanda revealed: "I’ve been embraced by a family and a community that I’ve never experienced before. I’m in a bubble of love and I’ve really found my place – so don’t kick me out!"

She then went on to say that, for the first time in her life, she feels like she "belongs". She explained: "For people to feel they really love me for me is truly immense. I feel like I belong for the first time in my life. I feel like I’ve been running all my life running or not know where I’m going and all of a sudden I’ve hit the finish line and I know where I am."

Amanda was betrayed by her fellow Traitor, Wilfred Webster (BBC)

During her time on The Traitors, it was Amanda's job to 'murder' her fellow contestants, thus banishing them from the show. For a period of time, she looked unstoppable but Amanda ultimately fell at the hands of her co-conspirator Wilfred Webster. Read our exclusive interview with her here.

Both The Traitors and its US spin-off, The Traitors US are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
