The Traitors US to launch on BBC with boxset dropping soon

The US version of The Traitors is coming to BBC, with new episodes of the series will be available to watch on iPlayer, BBC One and BBC Three.

While it's not The Traitors UK season two, which has not yet been confirmed by the BBC, if you've got withdrawal symptoms from the show that took over all our lives before Christmas, you can get your next fix sooner than you thought. The Traitor's US is launching across the pond tomorrow, with Alan Cummings in Claudia Winkleman's hosting role.

Just hours after the first episode airs in the US, the series will be available on BBC iPlayer to view in the UK tomorrow (Friday, January 13). For those who prefer to binge shows, the full series will be available on iPlayer, but if you prefer to space them out, individual episodes airing on BBC Three and BBC One.

And, if you're worried the series will lack the atmospheric setting of The Traitors UK, fear not, because the US series is filmed at the very same Scottish location.

The show will feature a mix of famous faces and everyday Americans, tapping into the charm of the UK series, which people applauded for featuring 'real' people in a reality show over influencers and celebrities.

Dan McGolpin, director, iPlayer and Channels, said: "Following the huge success of The Traitors, which has been streamed more than 28 million times on BBC iPlayer and was the talk of the nation over the festive period, we’re delighted to give BBC viewers the chance to watch the brand new US series within hours of its release in America.

"Hosted by the brilliant Alan Cumming and filmed at the same location as the UK series, it’s a new year treat for those seeking out more treachery - all is about to be revealed on BBC iPlayer, BBC Three and BBC One."

The show will be available on BBC One as double-bills on Wednesday nights at 10.40pm for five weeks from January 25. On BBC Three, episodes will air over three weeks on Jan 24, Jan 25 and Jan 26, Jan 30, Jan 31, Feb 1 and Feb 2, and Feb 6, Feb 7 and Feb 8.
