The Traitors US as Alan Cumming hosts Scotland based show - release date, cast and where to watch

In recent weeks, the nation sat down to watch the highly anticipated series, The Traitors, and safe to say it was a hit.

The UK series, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, followed 22 strangers who were competing to win up to a whopping £120,000 jackpot.

The idea behind the psychological adventure show was that they had to work together to complete tasks in order to add money to their prize fund to reach the £120k goal, fail, and the smaller the fund.

Set in a castle in the Scottish Highlands, the catch is that there are loyal contestants, known as 'Faithfuls' and some not-so loyal people who are called 'Traitors', who are trying to steal the cash prize from the loyal players.

As the series progresses, people are eliminated from the show by being voted off if fellow cast members thought they were a Traitor - with some being 'murdered' by the Traitors themselves.

But nobody, other than the Traitors, know who they are. It's the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust putting everyone on edge and questioning what everyone does, says as well as their potential motives.

Before the final, they must have voted out all of the Traitors or risk losing all of their money.

The series ended leaving many people hungry for a second series - and it seems we are getting just that - and its set in the Scottish castle yet again.
