The Traitors fans accuse star of 'rule break' in final as Faithfuls take home prize

The Traitors fans have accused one star of breaking the rules in a dramatic final which saw the Faithfuls take home the prize money.

At the start of the episode of the BBC show - hosted by Claudia Winkleman - it looked like Wilf and possibly Kieran had the win in the bag, as they devised a game plan. But at the last minute, Wilf decided the only way he could win was to get the three Faithfuls - Aaron, Meryl and Hannah - to banish Kieran and knowing he's a Traitor, think they've got them all out and end the game.

However, in a shock twist, Kieran left a string of cryptic clues for the group pointing at Wilf being a Traitor. Describing his vote for Wilf as a "parting gift", he stood up in front of the others and confirmed he was a Traitor.

The revelation left some fans of the BBC show fuming as they claimed he had "broken a rule".

"Everyone saying Kieran ruined the game & broke the rules.. but did Wilf not do the exact same thing by telling everyone Kieran is a traitor? Its the whole point of the game! If Wilf didn't backstab Kieran, they could have won it but Wilf snaked him so he did the same #TheTraitors," one viewer wrote on Twitter, whilst another added: "Absolutely stand by this after watching the final yesterday. Incredible stuff aside from Kieran clearly breaking the rules at the end because he got outplayed #thetraitors."

A third shared: "A nation doesn't thank him. For me he broke some sort of rule. He literally gave the game away. #TheTraitors."

" #TheTraitors am I the only one who didn't appreciate and/or respect K's move? It should have been a rule break," a fourth shared, as a fifth added: "My take on #TheTraitors finale. What Kieron did was not in the spirit of the game (if it was within the rules which we don't know). It was like going out of Cluedo first and saying 'by the way Aaron has Col Mustard and Hannah has the Library.'"

A sixth mused: "I think it was a bad move for the producers to allow a blatant disregard for the rules of a social deception game because a player is not able to act like a grown up. #TheTraitors."

However, some defended Kieran's comments - and felt it was within the rules.

"I think what Kieran did was well within the rules, he saw the writing on the cards and played a blinder. Ultimately what he did is give 3 people the chance to share the money instead of one who (rightly so) had been manipulating the game from day one," they penned.

Another added: "Imo it was completely fair game and well within the rules for Kieron to hint Wilf was the traitor. Wilfs inability to anticipate how throwing another traitor under the bus might backfire shows a weakness in his OWN game play #TheTraitors."
