The Traitors Australia Season 3 Trailer Has Dropped: Here’s When It’s Hitting TV Screens

the-traitors-australia-season-3

We’ve gotten our first look at the upcoming third season of the Australian version of The Traitors, and by the looks of things, I reckon we’re in for a treat.

The recently released trailer for season three of The Traitors Australia adds to a flurry of details that have been drip-fed ahead of its premiere, so to save you a hassle, we’re putting all the info in one place so you can focus solely on well-deserved couch time when it airs.

Here’s all there is to know about The Traitors Australia, from the starry ensemble cast to the release date, premise, host and more.

How does The Traitors Australia work?

Our very own version of The Traitors takes on the same format of the OG competition show, which started in The Netherlands but was popularised more recently with the US version.

Basically, the show assembles a bunch of contestants for a game of social deduction much like Mafia or Werewolf, against the backdrop of a bougie castle where they all reside. The castmates are assigned as either Traitors or Faithfuls, with the first group working together to slowly banish or “murder” the Faithfuls without being detected.

Throughout their time on the show, the contestants also compete in challenges to win immunity and secure their place in the competition, with occasional twists — like the switching of Faithfuls to Traitors — will impact the course of the game.

All of it is for a prize pot of up to $250,000, which is enough coin for contestants to score themselves the fabulous wardrobe of US host Alan Cumming.

Where is The Traitors Australia filmed?

The first two seasons of The Traitors Australia, which aired in 2022 and 2023, were filmed in the heritage Robertson Hotel, located in Robertson in the Southern Highlands, NSW. For the next instalment, however, we’re going international.

The third season of The Traitors Australia was filmed in the stunning Claremont Castle in Timaru, New Zealand. Expect a vast palace setting and lush green locales as the contestants plot, scheme, and machinate.

Who is the host of The Traitors Australia?

The first two instalments of The Traitors Australia were hosted by Aussie actor Roger Corser. During the hiatus between seasons two and three, Channel 10 — which airs the show — promised a refreshed version of the show with Gretel Killeen at the helm.

The beloved Big Brother icon was revealed as the host of The Traitors Australia season three in September of last year.

“As a writer and performer, I love a new experience, and hosting the new Traitors gives me permission to explore an alternate version of myself in an imaginary place, full of challenging mischief,” Killeen said in a press statement at the time.

Killeen has no shortage of reality TV experience. Alongside her seven-season stint as Big Brother’s host during its heyday, Killeen has appeared on the Aussie versions of The Amazing Race, The Masked Singer and Come Dine With Me.

Is there a trailer for The Traitors Australia?

Yes! It dropped in early June, 2026, and featured a bunch of ominous soundbites from both the cast and Killeen as well as some dramatic strings in the background.

“Darlings, I have only three tips for these deluded individuals as they come to play in my mischievous mansion; leave your good self at home and pack the naughty you, give yourself permission to feel good being bad, and never forget that although you may win the money, I will always win the game,” Killeen said in the teaser.

We also got a bunch of shots of the cast making shocked faces in confessionals and some foreboding scenes of fires throughout the castle. Basically, it’s the high drama we expect from reality TV, and I’m strapped TF in.

Who is in the cast of The Traitors Australia?

Unlike the previous two seasons, this batch of The Traitors Australia will honour the reboot vibes with 22 celebrity contestants. Announced in October of 2025, this assortment of Traitors and Faithfuls has been plucked from all walks of the Aussie entertainment landscape, including reality TV stars, athletes, drag queens and musicians.

Some of the buzziest contestants this season include: Krissy Marsh from The Real Housewives of Sydney, Gamble Breaux from The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Ian “Dicko” Dickson and Cosima De Vito from Australian Idol, and Rachael Evren and Claudia Bonifazio from Love Island Australia.

Big Brother’s Tully Smyth and The Bachelor’s Alex Nation and Keira Maguire will also live the castle life, with Married At First Sight getting a shout through season six’s Cam Merchant. You can read the full cast list for The Traitors Australia HERE.

When will The Traitors Australia be released?

So, the moment you’ve been waiting for: when will we get to watch celebs duke it out for our entertainment on TV? Thankfully, it’s not too far away, with the trailer revealing that season three of The Traitors Australia will land sometime in August, 2026.

That’s plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the previous Aussie seasons or perhaps the Emmy-winning US version. Now get to it, you’ve got homework to complete!
