The Trafford Centre restaurants taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out discount scheme

The government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme will begin next week, offering diners 50% off their food at participating restaurants.

Businesses who have signed up to the scheme will be able to claim the money back from the Government - meaning discounts for customers without leaving operators out of pocket.

The Trafford Centre has today confirmed that more than 20 of the restaurants, bars and cafes at the shopping centre have signed up.

These include Five Guys, Nando's, Tampopo, and San Carlo's champagne bar in Selfridges.

Those who are visiting the centre on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August will be able to take advantage of the discount, up to £10 per customer.

The discount applies to food and non-alcoholic beverages eaten in - it doesn't work for takeaways - without the need for vouchers.

Also taking part at the Trafford Centre will be fast food giants Burger King, McDonalds and Subway, along with coffee shops Costa and Pret a Manger.

Zoe Inman, centre director at intu Trafford Centre, said: "Over 80% of our restaurants, cafes and bars are now open, with a fantastic section of brands signing up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. 

"We’re seeing more and more visitors returning every day, so we’re confident that plenty of people will be taking advantage of the fantastic Eat Out to Help Out scheme and will enjoy a delicious meal together.

"Of course, we’ll be continuing to do everything we can to make sure intu Trafford Centre is a safe place to visit and work."
