The aim of the trade mission is to inspire and enable. We’re looking for businesses that will get the most out of the experience - and whose stories will inspire others.
We have a packed itinerary over the five days of the Trade Mission to Atlanta, Georgia, in March 2015, offering practical guidance designed to help small and medium-sized businesses that are ready to export, to get into the US market.
We’ll help our successful businesses connect with the people and opportunities in one of the world’s largest markets.
The story of their exporting adventure - and the lessons they learn - will be shared with the entire audience of The Guardian Small Business Network.
In order to identify the 10 UK businesses who will join us, The Guardian and UPS are asking SMEs to explain to us why they have the right product and brand to break into America.
Criteria
To enter, SMEs must have a turnover of less than £50m and no more than 250 employees. We will choose our shortlist based on a number of criteria:
- Product innovation, quality and viability
- Readiness for export
- Market fit
- Owner/operator passion
- But ultimately it will come down to one question: Does the business have what it takes to make it in America?
