The Tottenham star who came out on top in Bild's player ratings following RB Leipzig defeat

It was a night to forget for Tottenham in Germany as they crashed out of the Champions League against RB Leipzig.

Facing an uphill battle ahead of the second leg anyway after losing 1-0 in N17 back in February, the team made the worst possible start as Marcel Sabitzer opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a low strike that Hugo Lloris could have done better with.

The Austrian ace then doubled the lead 11 minutes later with a powerful header from Angelino's cross but, once again, the shot-stopper will feel that he should have stopped it from creeping in at his near post.

Spurs just couldn't find a way back into the game and substitute Emil Forsberg added a third goal just before the final whistle with his first touch of the ball.

Jose Mourinho admits Champions League return appears forlorn

The Lilywhites just weren't at the races and now their attention turns to qualifying for Europe's elite competition via the league.

As is the case at football.london as we rate the Tottenham players after every game home and away, German publication Bild (via Sport Witness) also give each player a mark for how they performed in their time on the pitch.

However, the newspaper do things rather differently with their ratings as a score of one is very good and six the lowest possible grade.

Well, despite his costly errors in the first half, Lloris wasn't the lowest scoring Spurs player as he was given a four.

Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Serge Aurier were the players to receive the lowest mark as Bild gave them a five for their performances.

Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela also received fours, with Dele Alli the Spurs player to come out on top with three.

Jose Mourinho also received a mark and was also handed a four, with his opposite number Julian Nagelsmann getting a two.

Unsurprisingly, Sabitzer scored the highest possible mark of one after his double helped Leipzig progress.
